Teak Lewis
attended the High School of Performing Arts in New York City. He later served in the Air Force before returning home. During the late 1950s, Teak performed in Guber, Ford & Gross Music Fair productions of LIL’ ABNER; OKLAHOMA; REDHEAD AND CAROUSEL.. In 1961 he joined the national tour of DESTRY RIDES AGAIN and in 1962, CARNIVAL. By the mid-60’s Teak danced in New York City Center’s MOST HAPPY FELLA, GUYS & DOLLS and CALGARY STAMPEDE. After performing in Terre Des Femmes in Expo ’67, he was invited to travel with the show to the Latin Quarter in New York City. After a year he departed for a part at the El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico. Teak joined the national tour of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and other shows where he toured all over Europe. After retiring from dance in 1973, Lewis began a successful career hospitality.
